In Nordhessen erfreut sich der Tierpark Sababurg sehr großer Beliebtheit und ist auch überregional bekannt. Gleich daneben befindet sich der Urwald Sababurg mit einem kleinen Wanderpfad.
Der Name hört sich spektakulärer an, als es in Wirklichkeit ist. Die größte Runde ist 4 km lang und führt nur in Teilen durch den naturbelassenen „Urwald“. Dieser Abschnitt ist sehr schön und man kann viele sehr alte Eichen und Buchen sehen die zum Teil bis zu 600 Jahre alt sind. Es ist schon ein wenig besonders. Der Rest des Rundweges ist außerhalb vom naturbelassenen Urwald und deutlich weniger sehenswürdig.
Neben der großen Runde sind noch 2 kleinere Runden ausgeschildert, welche nur durch den Urwald Sababurg führen. Im Endeffekt hat man alles gesehen, wenn man diese Wege abgeht. Allerdings kommt man dann auf maximal 2,5 km. Was natürlich wenig ist, wenn man eine größere Anreise hat. Von daher empfiehlt es sich die Rundwege mit einem Besuch im Tierpark zu verbinden.
