XIM4 für die PS4: Wer hat nicht schon einmal daran gedacht mit Maus und Tastatur so manchen Shooter an der Konsole zu spielen. Mit dem XIM4 Adapter kann man dieses mehr oder weniger problemlos bei der PS4 und allen anderen Konsolen realisieren.
Ich hab mir die XIM4 (von XIM Technologies) mal angesehen und war sogar in vielen Punkten positiv überrascht. Allerdings habe ich den Adapter am Ende zurückgegeben, weil er mich nach der Testphase doch nicht vollends überzeugt hat. Für den stolzen Preis von 169,- € hätte er das jedoch in meinen Augen gewährleisten müssen.
Absolut positiv ist die Konfigurationsmöglichkeit via iPad oder iPhone. Dazu verbindet sich die XIM4 via Bluetooth mit den mobilen Endgeräten. Aus den AppStores zieht man sich die kostenlose App, die sich wiederum eine aktuelle Spielebibliothek aus dem Netz zieht.
Die Konfiguration ist allerdings mit einem größeren Zeitaufwand verbunden. Zwar sind alle Fähigkeiten durch die heruntergeladene Bibliothek schon mit Tasten verbunden, aber ganz sinnig sind diese Bindings nicht immer. Die wichtigste Konfiguration ist aber die Sensitivity (Schnelligkeit der Zielkreuzbewegung):
Diese kann man von 0 bis 500 einstellen. Ab diesen Punkt erkennt man die Grenzen. Umso höher die Sensitivity eingestellt ist umso mehr Power benötigt die XIM4 anscheinend. Ab einem gewissen Punkt fängt das Fadenkreuz an zu ruckeln. Bleibt die Sensitivity im niedrigem Bereich (0 bis 100) bleibt dieses Phänomen aus. Allerdings bewegt sich dann das Fadenkreuz nicht viel schneller als über die Analog-Sticks vom Gamepad.
Ich bin kein Tech-Elektroniker, aber ich habe mich gefragt, ob ein externes Netzteil, welches die XIM4 (von XIM Technologies) mit mehr Strom versorgt helfen würde.
Wichtig: Der Controller, welcher an die XIM4 angeschlossen wird, sollte voll aufgeladen sein. Dadurch wird er nicht über die XIM4 geladen. Solltet ihr Gaming Maus und/oder Tastatur benutzen, hilft es auch Beleuchtung etc. auszuschalten. Im Endeffekt: Alles was weniger Strom zieht hilft!
Fazit (XIM4 für die PS4):
Ich habe die XIM4 mit der PS4 getestet und man erreicht ein 98% PC Feeling (Maus und Tastatur Gameplay). Definitiv der beste Adapter, den ich bisher getestet habe. Die Konfiguration ist einfach, jedoch nicht ganz ohne Aufwand verbunden und muss für jedes Spiel erfolgen. In manchen Situationen (welche sehr schwer zu beschreiben sind) fühlt es sich nicht echt an. Irgendwie nicht direkt, leicht schwammig. Ich konnte für mich keinen „Aiming“-Vorteil erkennen, deswegen habe ich die XIM4 zurückgegeben.
Großes Manko: Bei hoher Sensitivity fängt das Fadenkreuz an zu ruckeln (siehe Anfang des Videos) dadurch nimmt der Spielfluss ab.
Wer eh mit geringer Sensitivity spielt und eventuell nicht ganz so empfindlich ist wie ich, der bekommt mit der XIM4 eine 98% Lösung für Maus und Tastatur. Allerdings kostet diese wie gesagt auch 169,- €
