Codenames ist das Gesellschaftsspiel des Jahres 2016. Da meine Frau und ich in unserem Familien- und Freundeskreis schon als Gesellschaftsspielliebhaber bekannt sind, wurde uns natürlich dieses Spiel zu Weihnachten geschenkt. Ein kurzes Fazit zum Spiel:
Codenames: Kurzweilige Runden, die ab 4 Spielern Spaß machen.
Für Codenames werden in der Basisvariante mindestens 4 Spieler benötigt. Nach oben gibt es eigentlich keine Grenzen. Als Regelzusatz bietet das Spiel eine 2 bis 3 Spieler Variante an. Diese habe ich mit meiner Frau zusammen als erstes ausprobiert. Hier kann ich nur allen den Tipp geben, es zu lassen. Danach fragt man sich nur, wie dieses Spiel zu den Besten in 2016 gewählt wurde. Ohne die Konkurrenzsituation zwischen zwei Gruppen funktioniert Codenames nämlich nicht.
Das Ziel ist es an Hand von Begriffserklärungen die Codenamen für die eigenen Agenten zu erraten. Dabei sollte man schneller als das gegnerische Team sein, sonst verliert man die Runde. Ähnlich wie bei Tabu gelten für die Begriffserklärungen starke Einschränkungen und die bekannten 25 Codenamen dürfen nicht genannt werden.
Der Clou im Gegensatz zu Tabu ist, dass der jeweilige Teamleader (welcher jede Runde wechseln kann) versucht, möglichst viele Begriffe miteinander zu verknüpfen. Dadurch können die Gruppenmitglieder mehrere Treffer in einer Runde haben und sich einen Vorsprung erarbeiten. Doch hierbei ist auch Vorsicht gefragt! Falsche Antworten des Teams führen eventuell zur sofortigen Niederlage.
Eine Runde dauert maximal 20 bis 25 Minuten. Mit zunehmender Spielerfahrung laufen die Runden immer schneller ab. Bei guten Teamleadern und Kombinationsmöglichkeiten kann eine Runde auch schon nach 5 Minuten vorbei sein.
Gemeinsames Lachen ist vorprogrammiert
Codenames hat nahezu unendlich viele Kombinationsmöglichkeiten, wodurch die einzelnen Runden einzigartig sind. Der Spielspaß entsteht durch die unterschiedlichen Verknüpfungen und Assoziationen der einzelnen Personen zu bestimmten Wörter, die jedoch nicht immer zu denen der Mitspieler passen. Lachen ist dadurch garantiert. In Drucksituationen wird versucht aberwitzige Verknüpfungen herzuleiten. Begriffe wie „Bergsteiger“, „Aktien“ und „Skelett“ werden mit „Absturz“ erklärt. Dabei liegen noch „Bar“ und „Wirtschaft“ auf dem Tisch. Kann nur schief gehen.
Aus einer Runde Codenames werden schnell 10 Runden. Das Spiel hat enormes Spaßpotential, die Regeln sind sehr schnell erklärt und nach der ersten Runde bleiben keine Fragen mehr offen. Ein super Spiel ab 4 Personen.
