Viele Android-Tablet-User beschweren sich darüber, dass sie keinen Zugriff auf die Ordnerstruktur (Datenstruktur) vom iPad bekommen. Auch wenn man eigentlich die grundlegende Frage stellen sollte, warum dieser Zugriff eigentlich nötig ist, möchte ich hier eine kostenlose App vorstellen, mit der ein Zugriff auf die Ordnerstruktur möglich ist.
Ordnerstruktur auf dem iPad mit Documents von Readdle
Diese App fungiert als Finder für das iPad und ermöglicht es somit dem User auf einzelne Dateien in einer Ordnerstruktur zuzugreifen. Jedoch bringt Documents keinen Mehrwert für die Bearbeitung einer Datei. Eher das Gegenteil ist der Fall. Eine Datei kann in anderen Applikationen geöffnet, exportiert oder als Mail versendet werden. Diese und andere Optionen erhält man ebenfalls in allen anderen Applikationen.
Der wirkliche Mehrwert in meinen Augen liegt nur darin, dass man in der Lage ist, alle genutzten Cloud-Dienste zu integrieren und ebenfalls eine Übersicht der Daten zu erhalten. Documents bietet hier support für alle gängigen Cloud-Dienste. Ebenfalls ermöglicht Documents die Verbindung zu einem FTP-Server. Diese Funktionen in einer App zu haben ist eine nützliche Erweiterung/Anwendung für das iPad.
Der integrierte Browser oder Media-Player sind eher unnötige Features als Mehrwerte in meiner Augen. Wer also komplette Datenkontrolle via Ordnerstruktur auf seinen iPad einfordert kann dieses mit Documents lösen. Zusätzlich ist es noch möglich Documents um kostenpflichtige Plugins zu erweitern, diese habe ich aber bisher nicht getestet. Letztendlich räumt die App die Behauptung man könnte nicht auf die Datenstruktur eines iPads zugreifen aus dem Weg, was viele iPad Gegner immer wieder als Argument ins Feld führen.

Ich war die letzten 2 Tage auf einem Lehrerkongress in München. Da wurde es oft als Argument ins Feld geführt. Es ist deutlich einfach zu sagen, dass es geht, als die Notwendigkeit in Frage zu stellen. Deswegen habe ich da nach einer Lösung gesucht.
Ich hätte Dropbox-Affiliatelinks verschickt und noch mal kurz auf die iCloud verwiesen. Denn solche Dinge, die keinen Sinn machen und nicht vorgesehen sind, werden gerne von Apple dann nicht mehr zugänglich gemacht.
Lokale Dateisysteme auf mobilen Geräten sind Schwachsinn.
Und was bitte für „Gegner“ von iPads? Dann sollen sie doch bitte Stift und Block nehmen.
Das sind die gleichen Leute, die ein DVD Laufwerk an ihrem Laptop haben wollen und ihre E-Mails ausdrucken.
